Children are active naturally. They are often moving to learn and explore their environments. Pediatric Physical Therapists (PTs) can evaluate how children move and coordinate their bodies while in motion including: rolling, crawling and creeping, standing, walking, jumping and climbing.
At Assential Therapies our PTs offer parent education about each child's challenges and diagnosis. We then help the families to learn new strategies to help support their child's motor development. Our PTs have access to our multi-disciplinary team to help to coordinate care and to treat the whole child and family. We also help families to make appropriate choices for them about adaptive equipment which may include orthotics, wheelchairs or other seating devices, walkers or other devices to assist with mobility, etc. We work with a variety of medical professionals and specialists including pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, orthotists, school district staff, etc.
